Treyer expands photovoltaics

The company Treyer Paletten focuses on sustainable energy production and has expanded its existing photovoltaic system to nearly two megawatts. A new production line saves energy.

Bad Peterstal-Griesbach
(red/rüd.) – “With the expansion, the company now produces around 76% of its electricity consumption on its own roofs,” says Treyer Paletten GmbH. The expansion of the photovoltaic system is part of Treyer’s comprehensive sustainability strategy, which aims to reduce its carbon footprint and make a positive contribution to protecting the environment.

The installation of new solar modules allows the company to meet its energy needs through solar energy, which is not only beneficial for the environment but also brings significant long-term cost savings. With nearly two megawatts and a collection area of more than 10,000 square meters, Treyer’s photovoltaic system reaches an impressive scale.

The solar modules were installed on the roofs of warehouses and production halls, allowing optimal use of otherwise unused space. The “green” photovoltaic electricity corresponds to the average consumption of about 400 four-person households. Thanks to the photovoltaic systems, Treyer Paletten generates an income of around 1,000 euros per day. The share of clean electricity in the total energy consumption is thus continuously increased thanks to further incentives for renewable energies in the region. The decision to invest in renewable energy reflects Treyer’s commitment to climate protection as well as the company’s economic strategy. “The rising energy costs make the use of renewable energies very attractive for businesses,” informs Treyer Paletten GmbH. This increases operational cost security and plays a leading role in energy supply. The company thus becomes a model for other businesses in the region.

Treyer Paletten has long operated independently of fossil fuels. Wood suppliers play a key role not only in producing pallets from untreated wood but also for by-products. Wood chips are used to heat both the drying chambers and the company buildings. With the integration of LED lighting, electric forklifts, and charging stations for electric cars available to employees, the project was completed.

The next step will be a new energy-efficient production line, which will go into operation in August. It will reduce electricity consumption for pallet production by about 40%. For the company, this is proof that economic success and ecological responsibility go hand in hand.
